SOUTHERN OREGON PICKLEBALL foundaTION

The Southern Oregon Pickleball Foundation (SOPF) is a 501c3 charitable organization that is affiliated with the Southern Oregon Pickelball Association (SOPA). The specific objectives and purposes of this organization are to encourage amateur participation in the sport of pickleball, to educate the general public and especially to educate and train young people in the sport of pickleball, to train pickleball athletes for national and international competitions, and to promote national and/or international competitions in pickleball.

SOPF accepts donations that help pay for ongoing costs such as equipment, media outreach, and court construction and maintenance. Your donations are tax deductible.

Jack is originally from the Chicago area. He lived for many years in Montana, where he started a software company, Black Mountain Software, which specializes in governmental accounting software.  He moved to Ashland with his wife, Michele, in 2014. He was introduced to Pickleball by Marty Burns shortly after arriving in Ashland. He keeps an active schedule of pickleball and yoga, while still being CEO of Black Mountain Software.

Doug and his wife Kay have lived in Ashland since 2009.  He has a degree in Urban Planning/Environmental Studies.  He lived in Los Angeles and the San Francisco bay area about 45 years.  Played tennis in school, owned a sport shop and taught tennis for many years. Doug worked in the wine industry and was sales manager for Sebastiani Vineyards in Sonoma California. He also worked in the healthcare industry for 25 years as a contract negotiator. Now retired, he likes films, taking OLLI classes at SOU and enjoys all the benefits of living in Ashland.  Pickleball is his passion and loves to help players increase their skill level.

Native Oregonian who grew up in Central Point and now lives in Medford. Widower with 4 grown children who all live in the area. An Enrolled Agent who owned and operated a Tax and Accounting practice for over 30 years. Sold Tax practice but is continuing to work part time in the Financial Investment Industry. An avid golfer who also enjoys several other outdoor activities. Started playing pickleball in April 2017 and really enjoys the game.

Ashland resident since 2010. Married to Alejandra. Have two grown daughters living in Kauai, Hawaii, and Savannah Ga. Pickleball player since 2013. Graduated from San Jose State University with a BA in Geography. Five years an United States Marine Corps Naval Aviator. Worked in various military support disciplines, advanced technologies and sales including in-vehicle navigation and LiDAR. Retired aerial survey pilot.
